Annie creates from her studio in Bristol and is drawn to paint hidden places, buildings and objects that go unnoticed yet tell a story. Things that trigger memories and offer a sense of familiarity. Annie trained and worked as a printed textile designer for over 15 years which influences her use of colour, texture and shape in a painting. Like a screen print, these qualities are combined with finer detail overlaid and the occasional collage is applied from things found on her explorations.

Themes explored in Annie's work include legacy and what we choose to leave behind for future generations; what it is to be a woman today, particularly with reference to motherhood and how mothers and children are influenced by our immediate lived environments.  Her journey of motherhood constantly unfolds in her artwork.
